The Eden Family YMCA offers childcare for two different age groups. We have a “Primetime” program for K-5. The middle school youth, grades 6-8, are in the Y’s Up Club. Josie Hairston, Childcare Director, has seven years of YMCA experience and much enthusiasm for character development “the Y way”. During the school year, these programs run from 6:00 a.m. until school begins for those needing morning care and from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 p.m. There is a registration fee of $15.00 (non-refundable). Note: To be paid if not in previous program. Waived if in scholarship program.
PRIMETIME
The Primetime and Y’s Up Club rate for “Before School” is $15 per week, and the children are brought to the YMCA. They meet in the canteen area and play a game, watch cartoons, or review school work. The Primetime children are transported to the school by van and the Y’s Up Club children ride the school bus from the YMCA.
The Primetime YMCA counselors go to the school site in the afternoons. The children are kept on site until they are picked up. Should they have an early release day, the counselors and children remain at the school until pickup time. If it is an inclement weather day or a teacher workday, the children should be brought to the YMCA for the day. The program includes snacks, activities including organized games, arts and crafts, values education, and help with homework. We offer childcare at four elementary schools: Central, Douglass, Draper and Leaksville/Spray. The After-School rate is $35.00 per week. Additional children from the same family receive a $2.00 per week discount. If children have not been picked up, at the school by 6:00 p.m., they will be transported to the YMCA by the counselor and a $5.00 late fee for each 15 minute increment will accrue.

Y's UP CLUB
The Y’s Up Club will ride the school bus from Holmes Middle School to the Eden YMCA. The counselor greets them in the YMCA lobby and they meet in the Club Room. They work on their homework, have snack, play games, or have special activities until picked up. The participants of this program must be a YMCA member. The Y’s Up Club rate for after-school is $20.00 per week. Additional children from the same family receive a $2.00 per week discount. If children have not been picked up by 6:00 p.m. a $5.00 late fee for each 15 minute increment will accrue.
Registration for both traditional and year-round begins July 23, 2007. There is a program fee, as outlined above, and a one-time registration fee of $15.00 for youth who have not been in either program, within the last year. Enrollment forms and emergency medical information are needed for each child, along with a copy of their immunization record and insurance card.

SUMMER FUN CAMP
During the summer months, the YMCA offers day camps for both programs. The day camp begins at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. The elementary age children participate in “Summer Fun Camp” and the middle school children participate in the “Summer Y’s Up Club”.
The two programs offer day-long fun. Summer Fun Camp is a childcare program designed with a weekly theme and scheduled activities to go along with that theme. Activities include games, sports, devotions, music, story-time, swimming, arts and crafts, drama, field trips, outdoor fun, choice activities, healthy snacks, and much more! The Summer Fun Camp rates are $60.00 per week, with a $4.00 per week discount for additional children of the same family. Participants of the summer program must also have a YMCA membership.
The “Y’s Up Club” is a great opportunity for Middle School students to stay actively involved in their community while building self-esteem in a fun-filled environment. As a member of this club, you will do things that you may not ordinarily have the opportunity to do. The YMCA will be offering a variety of classes for the kids who join the Y’s Up Club. The rates are $40.00 per week, with a $4.00 per week discount for additional children of the same family. Participants must also be YMCA members.
Registration for both summer programs begin April 12, 2007. There is a program fee, as outlined above, and a one-time registration fee of $15.00 for youth who have not been in either program, within the last year. Enrollment forms and emergency medical information are needed for each child, along with a copy of their immunization record and insurance card.
Participants of either program, who register Monday through Wednesday, can begin the following Monday. Those registering Thursday or Friday can attend one full week after registering, beginning on Monday.
These programs operate Monday through Friday. Weekly fees are due on or before the Friday preceding the week your child will be attending. A $10.00 late fee will be charged if payment is not made within the week attending. There is never a waiting list. Enrollments are accepted on a continuous basis.
Questions about childcare program payments should be directed to the Business Director. Payment is not expected for weeks unattended or upon submitting a doctor’s excuse.
Financial assistance is available, based on need. The YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve those in need.
