The Eden Family YMCA offers childcare for two different age groups. We have a “Primetime” program for K-5. The middle school youth, grades 6-8, are in the Y’s Up Club. During the school year, these programs run from 6:00 a.m. until school begins for those needing morning care and from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 p.m. There is a registration fee of $15.00 (non-refundable). Note: To be paid if not in previous program. Waived if in scholarship program.

PRIMETIME

The Primetime and Y’s Up Club rate for “Before School” is $15 per week, and the children are brought to the YMCA. They meet in the canteen area and play a game, watch cartoons, or review school work. The Primetime children are transported to the school by van and the Y’s Up Club children ride the school bus from the YMCA.

The Primetime YMCA counselors go to the school site in the afternoons. The children are kept on site until they are picked up. Should they have an early release day, the counselors and children remain at the school until pickup time. If it is an inclement weather day or a teacher workday, the children should be brought to the YMCA for the day. The program includes snacks, activities including organized games, arts and crafts, values education, and help with homework. We offer childcare at four elementary schools: Central, Douglass, Draper and Leaksville/Spray. The After-School rate is $35.00 per week. Additional children from the same family receive a $2.00 per week discount. If children have not been picked up, at the school by 6:00 p.m., they will be transported to the YMCA by the counselor and a $5.00 late fee for each 15 minute increment will accrue.
