SUMMER ADVENTURES 2008

PROGRAM GOALS

(Campers In Action) Selected campers will be involved in a Campers In Action Program for Summer Fun Camp. (Youth in grades 5 and up will be used in this program.) Candidates and their parents must attend an interview and orientation program in May. Selected participants will also attend a weekend training session.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The “Y’s Up” Club is a great opportunity for middle school students to stay actively involved in their community while building self-esteem in a fun-filled environment.

Members of this club will do things that they may not ordinarily have the opportunity to do. The “Y’s Up” Club will enjoy a variety of classes including basketball, tennis, dance, fitness, drama, crafts, and special field trips such as Fairy Stone Park and Hanging Rock.

AGE:

Rising sixth through eighth grades

WHAT TO BRING:

Make sure your child dresses appropriately for outdoor activities. Each day your child needs to bring: YMCA membership card. The YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen possessions. Radios and CD players are not permitted unless requested by the director.

SNACK:

Each morning and afternoon the YMCA provides a light snack and a drink at lunch. Your child may bring his/her own drink, if you prefer.

REGISTRATION:

All paperwork must be received before your child may begin the program. Anyone registering for camp on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday may attend the following Monday. Anyone registering on Thursday or Friday may attend on the 2nd Monday after registering. A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $15.00 is due upon registration, unless your child is currently enrolled in the YMCA After-School Program or was in Summer Camp or the Y’s Up Program in 2007.

PROGRAM FEE: (Based on Program Availability)

$40.00 per week. A $4.00 a week discount is allowed for an additional child from the same family. Fees are due the Friday before the session begins or a $10.00 late fee will be added. Weekly fees are due whether attending one day or five days. Exception: doctor’s excuse submitted.

Financial Assistance: available, based on need. The YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve those in need.

* Only children 48” and over will be allowed to swim in the YMCA indoor pool. A swimming ability test will be administered on the first day. Those participants who cannot swim the length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping or touching the bottom, will be classified as a non-swimmer.

** All children must be picked up by 6:00pm or a $5.00 late fee will be added for each 15 minutes thereafter.

WEEKLY CLUB FEE IS $40

REGISTRATION FEE IS $15 (IF CHILD DID NOT ATTEND THE PREVIOUS YEAR)

SKATING DOES NOT INCLUDE SKATE RENTAL
