WESTERN ROCKINGHAM FAMILY YMCA MEMBERSHIP AND GUEST POLICY

PURPOSE

1. Members will know they "belong" to the organization, not just buyers of services.

2. A One-Tier Membership feeling will be engendered; membership in one part of the building will be a membership in all of the building.

MILITARY PERSONNEL

As a spouse of a deployed Guard or Reserve member, you and your family are eligible to join the YMCA for FREE, courtesy of Military OneSource.

It only takes two steps towards tons of fun!

1. Complete the YMCA/DoD Eligibility Form

2. Take the Eligibility Form along with a copy of deployment orders and your military ID card to the YMCA.

SILVERSNEAKERS

Individuals who are Medicare eligible with Humana and AARP supplements are invited to enroll in SilverSneakers membership.

PRINCIPLES

1. Everyone who participates must be or become a member.

2. There are two kinds of members:

·PHYSICAL (facility) Members - Annual or continuous fee for: Family, Adult, Youth, Senior Citizen

·SUSTAINING Members - Donors, without building use.

3. All new, Adult Physical Members will pay a joining fee, except those who are joining through their company's payroll deduction plan, or those who have made a sustaining contribution of $150 or more within the past year. Anyone whose membership has lapsed more than 60 days must pay a joining fee upon re-registering.

Adult - $60.00

Family - $90.00

4. The family fee will be 1.5 times the individual adult rate. (Essentially, the first adult is the full rate, the second is half price, and the children are FREE.)

5. The preferred payment method is monthly bank draft or payroll deduction. A membership on draft can be changed or cancelled for any month by the 21st of the previous month. Any unused portion of an annual membership fee will be refunded upon request when terminating the membership. (The joining fee is non-refundable.)

6. Physical Members will not pay extra for general "core" physical classes, fitness orientations, mass fitness testing, racquetball court reservations, or nautilus equipment. Extra fees will be charged for special interest programs outside the core which have added costs (e.g. Gymnastics, Tennis Lessons, C&T, etc.)

7. Guest passes will be available through the staff and are good for one free visit. Any member may bring a prospective member to use or see the facilities, provided clearance is made ahead of time, by a professional staff person. House guests of a member may use the YMCA free up to two weeks. Any time more than two weeks will be charged at the regular monthly rate of a membership. Members of another YMCA, except Eden, Reidsville, Martinsville or Danville, may use the YMCA free. Guest fee rates will be as follows:

Per Day--$10.00/adult--$7.00/college--$5.00/youth

Per Week--$30.00/adult--$20.00/college--$10.00/youth

Per Month--$60.00/adult--$40.00/college--$20.00/youth

Approved by the Eden YMCA Board of Directors.

** This Membership and Guest Policy disqualifies any Membership and Guest Policy before October, 2003.

YOUTH MEMBER ENTRANCE POLICY

In order to enter the YMCA facilities or grounds, youth members must be enrolled in a supervised program, or enter with their parents, or participate in a YMCA activity such as youth swim, open gym, etc. Parents of children not participating in any activity will be asked to come to the YMCA and participate with their child or enroll their child in a supervised program. The YMCA cannot accept the responsibility of babysitting a child who is "dropped off". If a youth member, not enrolled in a supervised program, is injured or harmed in any way, the YMCA will not assume any medical, financial or any other form of liability. Any member, youth or adult, who cannot abide by the established rules may have their privileges suspended or revoked. Approved by the YMCA Board of Directors.

SAFEGUARD YOUR VALUABLES

The YMCA is not responsible for personal belongings. Leaving items of value in unlocked lockers is not safe. The YMCA suggests leaving items of value at home. All lost and found items will be held at the front desk for one week after which they will be donated to charity.

COMPUTER ENTRANCE SYSTEM

Your fingerprint or ID number is your access passport to YMCA activities.

EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT POLICY

Members may check out equipment and towels at the front desk.

A.W.A.Y.

The Western Rockingham County YMCA is a member of the National A.W.A.Y. Program (Always Welcome At the Y) whereby your membership is reciprocal on a visiting basis all over the United States.

GIFT CERTIFICATES

If you are looking for the perfect gift, why not give a membership to the YMCA? For more information, ask the office staff about the gift certificate.

SCHOLARSHIP AID

YMCA programs and services are designed to benefit persons of all backgrounds. The YMCA uses contributed funds to ensure that those who are unable to pay the stated fees are able to participate. Inquiries about this policy are welcome.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Our membership records are very important in maintaining vital information on YMCA members. If there are any changes in your household, i.e. address, phone, employment, high school status to college, etc., please inform us at your earliest convenience so that we may better serve you and the community with accurate reports. Thank you for your cooperation.

DON'T FORGET IT!!!

Your membership card is your key to the YMCA.

PROGRAM PROCEDURES

Unless nonmember fees are listed with a particular program, all programs are for members only.

LOCKER USAGE POLICY

Lockers are available for rent or for daily use in each locker room. Check with the office personnel if you wish to rent a locker. Any lock left on daily use lockers after closing time will be removed by the YMCA.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

You can actively participate in your YMCA and serve the community through volunteer work. Volunteer opportunities include fitness, class instruction, board committees, and much more. For details, call Barry Mabe at the YMCA, 623-8496.
