



“Y’S UP CLUB”
Ages : Rising 6th Graders - Rising 8th Graders
Monday - Friday
3:30 p.m. — 6:00 p.m.
Location: Eden YMCA
Cost: $20 per week plus membership
(Additional children from the same family receive a $2.00/ week discount)
The “Y’s Up Club” is a great opportunity for middle school students to stay actively involved in their community while building self-esteem in a fun-filled environment. As a member of this club, you will do things that you may not ordinarily have the opportunity to do. The group will ride the school bus to the YMCA each day for activities. The YMCA will be offering a variety of classes for the kids who join the Y’s Up Club.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

As a member of these programs, teens will do things that they may not ordinarily have the opportunity to do. The YMCA will be offering a variety of activities for teens who join these programs that include volunteering, soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, weight training, cheerleading, fitness classes, drama, arts and crafts, and service projects.
PROGRAM GOALS:
The goals of the “Y’s Up” Club are to:
*enable members to find ways to succeed in school and life
*provide opportunities for members to feel significant and capable
*teach members ways to serve their community
*encourage members to participate in productive activities
*introduce challenges of learning new things and exploring new friendships
*do community service projects and participate in intergenerational programming

Each afternoon the YMCA provides a light snack and drink.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Before School “Y’s Up” will operate from 6:00 a.m. until school begins. The van leaves the YMCA at 7:10 a.m. to transport club members to the schools. The “Y’s Up Club” will operate from school dismissal until 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., your child will be taken to the YMCA by the counselor from the site and a late fee will be charged. The program will remain open on teacher workdays, and most holidays from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. at the YMCA site, at the current rate of full days.
TRANSPORTATION:
Children in Before School “Y’s Up” will be transported by the Rockingham County Consolidated School System every morning. The club members will catch the bus from the YMCA.
REGISTRATION:
All paperwork must be received before your child may begin the program. Anyone registering on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday may attend the following Monday. Anyone registering on Thursday or Friday may attend on the 2nd Monday after registering. A one-time, nonrefundable registration fee of $15.00 is due upon registration, unless your child is currently enrolled in the 2005. “Y’s Up” Club or was in the program during the 2004-05 school year.

Fees are due the Friday before the week attending or a $10.00 late fee will be added. Weekly fees are due whether attending one day or five days. Exception: doctor’s excuse submitted. * Financial Assistance: available, based on need. The YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve those in need. * All children must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. or a $5.00 late fee will be added for each 15 minutes thereafter.
Note: children in Before School, Year Round Beak and Holiday Camps are all cared for at the Eden Family YMCA. If school is closed, all sites attend at the YMCA-snow days, etc. On early release days, children remain at the school site. On school delays, only the children registered in the Before School program will be transported due, to limited space.
